BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State junior
Denisha Cartwright has been named the NSIC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season.
A sprinter from Nassau, Bahamas, Cartwright won two individual events at Massive Meet #1 including the 200m dash (23.86) and the 60m hurdles (8.07). Her time in the 200m dash ranks second in the nation and 23rd in NCAA DII history, while her time in the 60m hurdles tied her school record and leads NCAA Division II.
During Massive Meet #2 she finished second in the 60m dah (7.238) and her time is tied for first in the nation and tied for sixth in NCAA DII history. She was also a member of the 4x400 relay team that finished with a school record of 3:44.61, which also ranks third in the nation.
Minnesota State continues its schedule this Friday as it hosts the Maverick Invitational at Myers Field House. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
