New Orleans, La. --- Minnesota State is ranked #1 in the initial edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field National Rankings.
 
MSU checked in 220.54 points in the rankings, far outpacing #2 Grand Valley State (170.51).  Three NSIC squads join Minnesota State in the national poll:  #8 Winona State (77.74), #17 Concordia-St. Paul (40.44), and #22 MSU Moorhead (35.89).  Of the 25 teams appearing in the initial polling, eight come from the Central Region.
 
The Mavericks will return to the friendly confines of Myers Field House in their next action when they host the two-day Mark Schuck Open & Multi, presented by North Mankato Family Dentistry, on Friday and Saturday, January 27^th and 28^th on the campus of Minnesota State.
