New Orleans, La. --- Minnesota State is atop the initial edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Women's Indoor Track & Field Central Regional Rankings.
 
Of the Top Ten teams in the rankings, two (#1 Minnesota State; #5 Winona State) hail from the NSIC.  The remaining teams belong to the MIAA.  MSU checked in with 474.15 points to lead the rankings, well ahead of second-place Pittsburg State (305.99) of the MIAA.
 The Mavericks will return to the friendly confines of Myers Field House in their next action when they host the two-day Mark Schuck Open & Multi, on Friday and Saturday, January 27^th and 28^th on the campus of Minnesota State.
