Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State volleyball team continues with another weekend of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches. The Mavericks play at home friday at 6:00 p.m. vs. Minot State and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. against the University of Mary.
Minnesota State is 2-12 and 1-5 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Mavericks topped MSU Moorhead last weekend 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-13) and lost to Northern State 1-3 (25-22, 18-25, 15-25, 16-25).
About the Mavericks: Junior
Sophie Tietz leads the Mavericks with 119 kills for the start of the season. Sophomore
Brooke Bolwerk leads on assists with a total of 286. Senior
Brenna Hesse is leading the Mavericks with 119 digs. Sophomore
Kiya Durant leads the team with 64 blocks.
Minnesota State averages 11.9 kills and 15.4 digs per set for the start of the season. Sophomore
Kiya Durant recorded a total of nine blocks for the Mavericks last weekend. Junior
Sophie Tietz had a remarkable performance with 29 kills and four aces. Also, Â Sophomore
Elizabeth Dille had 28 kills and two aces.
About the Beavers: Minot State stands 16th in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference following the fifth week of competition. The Beavers are currently 0-6 in conference play and have an overall record of 0-13.
Alexandra Koontz is leading Minot State with a total of 81 kills.
Viktoria Sedova has recorded 98 digs since the start of the season.
Jaina Macaulay leads the team with 215 assists.

Kaia Sueker is leading the Marauders with 228 digs.

Coming Up: Minnesota State continues its season playing at home Oct. 4th against Concordia-St. Paul at 6:00 p.m., then on the road  Oct. 7th against Minnesota Crookston at 6:00 p.m. and Oct. 8th against Bemidji State at 11:00 a.m.
