Minneapolis, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's golf team placed second at the Everspring Inn Mustang Invitational held the last two days at the Marshall Golf Club in Marshall, Minn.

The 36-hole tournament, which was hosted by Southwest Minnesota State, included 13 teams.

The Mavericks, who combined to shoot rounds of 320 and 316 for a two-round total of 636, placed 20 strokes behind the first-place efforts of Augustana (616).

Samantha Youngquist (74-78--152), who finished third, was the top Minnesota State individual at the tournament.

Other Mavericks included Anna Cihak (fourth, 76-77--153), Madi McGinty (t9th,73-86--159), Delaney Conrad (t18th,83-79--162), Kelly Winter (t27th, 80-85--165),  Crystal Cariveau (t33rd, 82-85-167), Ava Olson (t36th, 85-83--168), Lauren Rebrovich (t41st, 87-82--169), Sam Soulier (t50th, 89-84--173), and Megan Koch (t50th, 87-86--173),

Next action for Minnesota State is the Super Region Preview Oct. 8-9.
