MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State volleyball team fell to Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon in Taylor Center as the Cougars defeated the Mavericks 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-12).
With the loss, MSU drops to 1-11 on the season, including a 0-4 NSIC record. With the win, USF improves to 7-4, including a 3-1 conference record.
Freshman
Elizabeth Dille led the Maverick offense with 12 kills, while junior
Sophie Tietz posted 11 kills. Sophomore
Brooke Bolwerk notched a team-leading 33 assists and 16 digs as well, while sophomore
Kiya Durant posted 11 total blocks, including three solo blocks.
USF's Courtney Holsteen led all attackers with 17 kills, while Elise Gillen passed out 37 assists. Sadie Voss recorded 24 digs also.
Minnesota State continues its season on Friday as it travels to MSU Moorhead. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
