Men's Golf | Minnesota State Ties for Third at Bemidji State Invitational

Bemidji, Minn. --- The Minnesota State's men's golf team tied for third at the BSU Invitational, which was played in Bemidji the last two days.

The Mavericks combined to shoot rounds of 297 and 292, with their 36-hole total of 596 placing them in a tie for third with Winona State.

There were 11 teams competing at the tournament, which was held at the Bemidji Town and Country Club.

Minnesota State was led by senior Ben Laffen, who posted a two-round total of 144 (73-71) in tying for 10th.

Other Mavericks, their placing and scores included Marcus Belka (t16th, 72-75--147), Jack Klimek (t19th, 76-73--149), Joe Bigger (T19th, 76-73--149) and Max Brud (T48th, 80-77--157).

Next action for Minnesota State is the Winona State Invitational slated for Sept. 26-27.
