ST. PAUL, Minn. --- The fourth ranked Minnesota State women's track and field team traveled to St. Paul, Minn., to take part in the Holst Invite on the campus of Concordia-St. Paul.
In the 100m dash, four Mavericks finished inside the top five with Makayla Jackson claiming victory with a new school record mark of 11.40 surpassing Brittany Henderson's mark of 11.47 from 2008. Jackson currently ranks second in the country with this performance. Denisha Cartwright finished second with a provisional mark of 11.62 which is ninth in the country.
Kynnedi Malone took home the win in the 100m hurdles with a provisional time of 14.01 which is tied for 17th in the country. In the preliminary round of the event Cartwright broke the school record in the event with a time of 13.42 breaking the previous mark of 13.51 held by Altoniece Williams from 2016.
Jackson also finished first in the 200m dash with a new school record as well as a meet record time of 23.53 breaking the previous school record of 23.61 held by Brittany Henderson in 2008. With this performance Jackson currently sits third in the country. Rose Cramer finished second in the event with a provisional mark of 24.2. Rounding out the top three, Rose Gaye finished third with a mark of 24.90.
In the 800m run, MaKenna Thurston finished fourth with a time of 2:21.91. Thurston also placed fourth in the 1500m run with a time of 4:45.88.
In the 5000m run, Skylar Bragg finished second with a time of 18:37.54. Alyssa Rauk finished fifth with a time of 19:39.44.
Madeline Fretag set a new meet record in the discus throw with a throw of 145' 3'' (44.28m). She currently is 19th in the country. Kaitlyn Schroeder finished fourth with a distance of 137' (41.77m).
Brea Perron set a new meet record in the hammer throw with a toss of 187' 2'' (57.05m). Perron currently sits fifth in the country. Katie Taylor finished third in the event with a distance of 161' 7'' (49.26m).
Samantha Sunnarborg was victorious in the javelin throw with a mark of 126' 1'' (38.43m).
In the pole vault, Paige Hickson finished second with a height of 12' 5.5'' (3.80m). Hickson currently sits tied for 34th with this effort.
In the high jump, Teya Langston finished third with a height of 5' 3'' (1.60m). Molly Kahl won the long jump with a mark of 18' 3.25'' (5.57m).
The shot put saw Mavericks claim the top four spots in the event. Taylor was the victor with a heave of 47' 3.5'' (14.41m) setting a new meet record. She currently holds the fifth spot in the country. Perron finished second with a toss of 46' 4.75'' (14.14m). She holds the seventh spot in the NCAA.

The Mavericks return to action on Thursday as they begin day one of the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
