MANKATO, Minn. --- The #6 ranked Minnesota State women's track and field team took part in multiple meets today including day two of the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University and the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. The Mavericks also participated in the first day of the Long Beach Invite on the campus on Long Beach State University.
At the Bryan Clay Invite, Kynnedi Malone finished 27th in the 100m hurdles with a mark of 14.70. In the 400m dash, Rose Gaye finished 75th with a time of 58.94. In the 100m dash, Rose Cramer finished 61st with a time of 12.29. Caitlyn Jones finished 93rd with a time of 12.62.
In the 200m dash, Rose Cramer finished 11th with a NCAA provisional time of 24.38. Rose Gaye finished 72nd in the event with a time of 25.44 and currently sits 20th in the nation. Caitlyn Jones finished 92nd with a time of 25.77 and Kynnedi Malone finished 101st with a time of 25.91.
In the long jump, Mariah Williams finished 11th with a NCAA provisional mark of 19' 4'' (5.89m) which currently sits 11th in the country.
At the Mt. SAC Relays, the MSU 4x100 relay team that consisted ofMakayla Jackson, Ja'Cey Simmons, Denisha Cartwright, and Rose Cramer finished second in the event with a time of 44.65 breaking the school record that was held by themselves from 2021. With this performance they currently rank #1 in the country.
In the 100m hurdles, Denisha Cartwright finished 14th with a time of 13.65. With that provisional mark Cartwright currently sits second in the nation.
In the 100m dash, Makayla Jackson finished 13th with a NCAA provisional mark of 11.49 which is third best in division II. Ja'Cey Simmons finished 52nd with a time of 12.03.
Mackenzie Woodard finished 52nd in the 400m run with a time of 57.55.
In the 200m dash, Cartwright finished 41st with a NCAA provisional mark of 24.17 which currently sits 15th in the country.
Flore Gracia finished 18th in the triple jump with a leap of 39' 4'' (11.99m). Gracia currently ranks fifth in the event.
In the long jump, Makayla Jackson finished third in the event with another school record breaking distance of 21' 7'' (6.59m). Jackson broke her previous school record from last week at the Minnesota State Open & Multi with a leap of 21' 5.5'' (6.54m). Jackson is currently first in the nation in the event and this performance is the fourth best mark all-time in division II history. Kary Petricka finished 10th with a distance of 20' 2.5'' (6.16m). Petricka is currently tied for third in the nation with this mark.
At the Long Beach Invitational, Brea Perron finished seventh with a new school record mark of 194' 4'' (59.24m) besting previous record holder Morgan Stampley's mark of 190' 8'' from 2016. With this provisional mark Perron currently sits fourth in the country. Kaylee Jensen finished 19th with a mark of 177' 2'' (54.01m). Jensen is 15th in the nation. Katie Taylor finished 34th with a toss of 164' 7'' (50.17m).
The Mavericks return to action tomorrow to finish the Long Beach Invite and on Wednesday the Mavericks travel to Minneapolis, Minn., on the campus of the University of Minnesota to take part in the Brave Like Gabe Invite.
