Mankato, Minn. ---  Minnesota State's Mike Hastings has been named Central Collegiate Hockey Association Coach of the Year.

Hastings, in his 10th year behind the bench for the Mavericks, guided his squad to a 23-3-0 league mark this season en route to the CCHA regular-season championship. Currently in the midst of a 14-game unbeaten streak and ranked #1 in the nation for the eighth consecutive week, Minnesota State stands 34-5-0 on the season. The 34 wins lead the nation and are the most-ever by a Minnesota State men's hockey team.  Minnesota State currently leads the country in goals scored (165), scoring margin (2.95), and face-off percentage (58.5%) and are second in goals against average (1.28) and scoring offense (4.23), rank third on the power play (26.8) and are seventh in penalty killing (86.8).

Hastings, who served as an assistant coach with Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics in February, has led the Mavericks to a 270-90-24 ledger for a .725 winning percentage over the course of his decade with the program. No team in the nation has won more games than the Mavericks have during that time.

Minnesota State hosts Bemidji State in the CCHA postseason championship game Saturday in its next action.
