During the 2017-18 season as a freshman, Asham served as team captain of the Capitals where she skated in 54 games and had 39 goals and 26 assists for a total of 65 points before being named to the AAA All-Star Team. The left-handed forward is now in the midst of her senior year with the Blazers and has 22 goals and 12 assists for 34 points in 32 games this season while owning a +28 plus-minus rating. The Blazers' alternate captain is also in her third season as a member of Team Manitoba and also made an appearance at the Team Canada Player-Selection Camp earlier this season. With Balmoral Hall School, Asham has made a pair of appearances in the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship. Her favorite hockey memory so far has been winning the 2017 Hockey Manitoba Provincials with Bantam AAA Central Plains. Oceane has cracked honor-roll status in the classroom each year of her studies dating back to 7th grade and has also received a gym and math award along the way. Oceane is the daughter of Arron Asham and Nicole Rossi. Her father, Arron, spent 15 seasons in the National Hockey League, which included stops with the New York Islanders and Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers along the way. Oceane's hobbies include reading, drawing and walking her dog. Her plans are to study criminal justice when she arrives at Minnesota State next fall, she aspires for a career as a police officer or detective. Oceane was born June 22, 2004, in Brandon, Man.

Coach Harrington on Asham: "We are excited to add Oceane to our 2022 incoming class. Her commitment to and passion for the game has paid off for her as she has developed into a Canadian National Team candidate in her age group. Oceane will bring versatility to our team, with the ability and skill to play all forward positions."

All signings are contingent upon admission to Minnesota State and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
