BROOKINGS, S.D. —- Members of the Minnesota State women's track and field team competed in the pentathlon event at the SDSU Holiday Open and Multi Friday evening in Brookings South Dakota.

Freshman Miranda Lauvstad took second in the event with 3,565. Lauvstad won finished first in the 60 m hurdles (9.12), the long jump (5.67m) and the 800 meter run (2:27.82). She also finished second in the high jump (1.57m).

Junior Samantha Sunnarborg finished fifth in the pentathlon with 3,134 points, while sophomore Cora Anderson finished ninth with 2,834 points.

Minnesota State returns to action on Saturday as the host the Chuck Petersen Open at Myers Field House.
