Bemidji, Minn. – The Minnesota State women's volleyball team earned its second straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Road win with a 3-0 sweep at Bemidji State Saturday.
The Mavericks, who downed the Beavers 28-26, 25-19, 25-22 today, claimed a a five-set win at Minnesota Crookston last night.
Buoyed by a season's best team hitting percentage of .301 today, Minnesota State was paced offensively by sophomore
Toryn Richards with 11 kills. Sophomore
Kiya Durant posted four blocks and junior
Sophie Tietz added four aces and nine digs. Freshman
Ellie Kline contributed 15 digs. Sophomore
Brooke Bolwerk passed out 37 assists.
"It was a solid weekend for us" said head coach
Corey Phelps. "We continue to improve with every outing and everyone on the team is working hard in their roles."
Minnesota State, now 6-13 overall and 5-6 NSIC for the season and winners of five of its last seventh matches, continues NSIC action with Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 14) and St. Cloud State (Oct. 15) visiting Mankato.
