Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State women's volleyball fell against #2 Minnesota Duluth in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play 1-3 (25-21, 19-25, 25-16, 25-21).
With the loss, MSU drops to 6-14, including a 5-7 NSIC record. With the win, UMD improves to 19-1, including an 11-1 conference record.
Minnesota State was led offensively by freshman
Emily Kern with nine kills followed closely by junior
Sophie Tietz and sophomore
Toryn Richards with eight each. Sophomore
Kiya Durant led the team with 10 blocks. Freshman
Ellie Kline posted 14 digs for the Mavericks. Sophomore
Brooke Bolwerk passed out 29 assists.
Minnesota Duluth's offense was led by
Cianna Selbitschka with 19 kills.
Madison Gorgon had 54 assists for the Bulldogs while
Madison Kaylyn posted 20 digs.
Minnesota State continues NSIC action tomorrow against St. Cloud State in Taylor Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
