Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State fell to #6 St. Cloud State 3-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Saturday in Mankato.
The Huskies prevailed in four sets over the host Mavericks: 25-20, 25-23, 14-25, and 25-18.
Minnesota State was led offensively by junior Sophie Tietz with 11 kills followed by sophomore Toryn Richards with ten kills and freshman Emily Kern with nine kills. Sophomore Kiya Durant posted four blocks and freshman Ellie Kline tallied 18 digs. Sophomore Brooke Bolwerk passed out 38 assists.
St. Cloud State's offense was led by Kenzie Foley with 20 kills. Emma Berran had 43 assists for the Huskies while Linsey Rachel posted 18 digs.
With the loss, Minnesota State drops to 6-15 overall and stand 5-8 in NSIC action. With the win, St. Cloud State improves to 17-4, including an 8-4 conference record. Minnesota State continues NSIC action next Thursday (Oct 20) with a home match against Winona State.
