BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State sophomore
Damian Chowaniec has been named the NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts against Sioux Falls last weekend.
A kicker from Manhattan, Ill., Chowaniec scored eight points in MSU's 38-24 road win over Sioux Falls. He connected on a 32-yard field goal and went 5-for-5 in extra point attempts.
Chowaniec is the second Maverick to receive NSIC Special Teams Player of the Week honors this season. Junior
Trey Vaval earned the award for his efforts against Minnesota Duluth back in week two of the season.
Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday as it takes on the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., at Blakeslee Stadium.
