Fayette, Iowa. --- Minnesota State fell to Upper Iowa on the road in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Saturday.
Upper Iowa claimed the match in three sets over the Mavericks: 25-20, 25-15, 25-20.
Sophomore Toryn Richards and freshman Emily Kern led the Maverick offense with eight kills each and Kern added three blocks. Sophomore Brooke Bolwerk had nine digs and 23 assists.
The Upper Iowa offense was led by Maggie Streightiff with eight kills. Nicole Pozorski had 29 assists for the Peacocks while Kaci Beesecker posted 13 digs.
Minnesota State drops to 6-17 overall and stands 5-10 in NSIC action. Upper Iowa improves to 13-9, including a 7-8 conference record.
Minnesota State continues NSIC action this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., on the road against Concordia-St. Paul.
