Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota State women's volleyball team picked up its second straight home league sweep with a 3-0 victory over UMary Saturday in Taylor Center.
Coming off a 3-0 win over Minot State Friday, the Mavericks bested the visiting Marauders (25-6, 25-22, 25-20) today.
Minnesota State, which hit at a .257 clip in the win over UMary, was led offensively by freshman
Emily Kern, who put down 12 kills. Sophomore
Toryn Richards, sophomore
Brooke Bolwerk and freshman
Ellie Kline posted 12 digs each and Bolwerk passed out 31 assists. Junior
Sophie Tietz and Kern contributed with five blocks each.
University of Mary, which fell to 2-14 overall and 1-7 NSIC, was led by
Robi Binagi with nine kills.
Mady Freed passed 21 assists, while
Kaia Sueker posted 12 digs.
Minnesota State, now 4-12 overall and 3-5 NSIC for the season and winners of three of its last four matches, continues NSIC action Tuesday with Concordia-St. Paul visiting Taylor Center.
