Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Women's Track and Field team traveled to Brookings, S.D., to take part in the SDSU Division II Invitational. The Mavericks claimed the top spot with a final score of 171.
In the 200-meter dash, the Mavericks claimed the top five spots as sophomore Rose Cramer captured the top spot with a time of 24.63 seconds which is a NCAA Division II provisional mark. In 400-meter dash junior Rose Cramer finished third with a time of 58.45 seconds.
In the 60-meter dash, the Mavericks claimed the top two spots with Rose Cramer claiming victory with a time of 7.71 seconds. Senior MacKenzie Keune finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 9.08 seconds.
In the high jump, senior Teya Langston finished third with a jump of 1.55 meters (5'3''). In the long jump, Mariah Williams placed third with a jump of 5.57 meters (18'3.75'') which eclipses the NCAA Division II provisional mark. Finally, in the triple jump junior Flore Gracia claimed victory with a jump of 12-meters (39'4.5'').
In the weight throw and shot put, senior Katie Taylor stole show as she placed first in both events. Taylor, who ranks first in the NSIC in the weight throw and first in the nation, won with a throw distance of 19.4-meters (63'7.75''). Then, in the shot put Taylor claimed the top spot with a throw of 14.69-meters (48'2.5''). Taylor is also ranked second in the conference and seventh in the nation in the shot put.
The Mavericks return to action Jan. 28 and 29 as they host the Mark Schuck Open and Multi at Myers Field House in Mankato, Minn.
