Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State University Maverick men's track and field finished second to the NCAA division one University of Northern Iowa, by a score of 67-57, in the Ted Nelson Dual Saturday afternoon at Myers Field House.
Nicholas Sharma finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 6.95. In the 200m dash,
Cornelius Bright finished third with a time of 22.38.
In the 400m run
Kenry Atubel finished first with a time of 50.47 while
Drew Lewison (50.66) finished second.
Tanner Maier finished first in the 800m run with a time of 1:53.33 which adjusted for track size becomes 1:51.74 which currently ranks as the seventh best time in the nation and is a provisional qualifier.
Will Valentin finished first in the 5000m run with a time of 15:47.97. In the 60m hurdles
Justus Adams finished second with a time of 8.25 which is currently the 20
th best time in the nation.
In the 4x400m relay, the team of
Drew Lewison,
Max DePrenger, Adams and
Bright finished first with a time of 3:23.49 which adjusted for track size becomes 3:20.30 which is the 16
th best time in DII.
Deveyonn Brown finished first in the high jump with a top clear of 2.03m (6'8"). In the pole vault,
Carson Dittel finished first with a top clear of 4.76m (15'7.25") which is tied for the 23
rd best mark in the nation.
In the weight throw,
Carter Aguilera finished second with a provisional throw of 18.77m (61'7") which does not improve on his best throw this season and Nick Hudson finished fifth with a provisional qualifying throw of 18.07m (59'3.5") which is the 17
th best mark in the nation.
The Mavericks return to action next Friday as they host the University of Sioux Falls and Concordia-St. Paul in the Minnesota State Triangular. Events are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in Myers Field House.
