Mavericks Indoor Regular Season Closes With Win in President Davenport Classic

Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's Track and Field program finished first in the President Davenport Classic with 94 points while Winona State finished second with 55 and Minnesota Duluth finished with 21 team points.
 
In the 60m dash, Denisha Cartwright finished first with a time of 7.54 which is currently tied with the fourth best time in DII this season and is a provisional qualifier. Grace Hartman finished second in the 60m dash with a time of 7.65 which is a provisional qualifier and is currently tied with the 18th best time in the nation.

Hartman then finished first in the 200m dash with a time of 24.82 which when converted for track size becomes 24.44 and is a provisional qualifier and good for the 6th best time this season. Rose Cramer (24.99 converted to 24.61) finished second in the 200m dash with a provisional qualifier that ranks as the ninth best time in DII.

In the 400m dash, Mackenzie Woodard finished second with a time of 56.57 which converted for track size becomes 55.83 and ranks as the third best time in the country. Autumn Anderson finished first in the 600m run with a time of 1:38.58.

In the high jump, Khadiya Hollingsworth tied for first place with a top clear of 1.64m (5'4.5"). Christine Dennison finished first in the pole vault with a top clear of 3.74m (12'3.25") which is a provisional qualifier but currently ranks as the 30th best mark in the nation.

Makayla Jackson finished first in the long jump with a top leap of 6.09m (19'11.75") which is a provisional qualifier that is currently tied for the third best mark in DII this season.

In the shot put, Katie Taylor finished first with a top throw of 14.52m (47'7.75") which is a provisional qualifier but does not improve her current top mark. Taylor then finished first in the weight throw with a toss of 19.73m (64'8.75") which is an automatic qualifier and ranks as the second best throw in the nation currently while teammate Kaylee Jensen finished second with a throw of 19.07m (62'6.75") which is a provisional qualifier and the eighth best throw in the country.
 
Minnesota State returns to action next Friday and Saturday as it hosts the NSIC Indoor Championships at Myers Field House. In accordance with NSIC regulations regarding the health and safety of student athletes, coaches, officials and fans, there will be no fans in attendance for the event however live results and video streams will be available to watch the event.
