Mavericks Continue to Post Top Marks In MSU Triangular

Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's Track and Field program finished first in the MSU Triangular with 98.66 points while Sioux Falls finished second with 34.33 and Concordia-St Paul finished with 25 team points.
 
In the 60m dash, Makayla Jackson finished first with a time of 7.48 which improves on her own mark and currently ranks second in the nation.
 
Grace Hartman finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.11 which translated for track size becomes 24.73 which is a provisional qualifier and currently ranks as the eighth best time in DII. In the 400m run, Rose Gaye finished first with a time of 59.98.
 
In the 1000m run, the Mavericks took the top four spots led by Amanda Mont with a time of 3:01.58 and Ashlin Young finished first in the 3000m run with a time of 10:55.72.
 
In the 60m hurdles, Denisha Cartwright finished first in with a time of 8.50 which is now the #1 time in the nation.
 
Wrapping up the track events, the 4x400m relay team of Cartwright, Nyeaee Robins, MacKenzie Keune and Mackenzie Woodard finished first with a time of 3:51.07 which converts to 3:48.05 which is a provisional qualifier and ranks as the third best in the DII this season.
 
In the high jump, Khadiya Hollingsworth finished first with a top clear of 1.65m (5'5") and Christine Dennison finished first in the pole vault with a jump of 3.52m (11'6.5").
 
Katie Taylor finished second in the shot put with a top mark of 15.04m (49'4.25") which is a provisional qualifier and ranks as the sixth best throw in the nation.
 
Taylor would then go on to finish first in the weight throw with a top toss of 19.21m (63'0.25") which is also a provisional qualifier and is the fifth best throw in DII this season.
 
Minnesota State returns to action next Saturday, Feb. 20th as they host the President Davenport Classic and welcome Minnesota Duluth and Winona State to Myers Field House. Events are scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
