BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Minnesota State guard Joey Batt was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week after her performances in which the Mavericks went 3-0 on the week and winning the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic in San Antonio, Texas.
Batt, a sophomore from New Ulm, Minn., averaged 21.7 points, 4.33 rebounds and 3.33 steals in three wins this past week. She surpassed her career high mark of 29 points last Tuesday against Concordia-St. Paul where she dropped 32 in the win over the Golden Bears 84-74. She currently ranks second in the NSIC in scoring (20.4) and third in steals (3.2) per game.
Minnesota State (5-0, 1-0 NSIC) will dive into conference action this week as they play host to Upper Iowa Thursday December 2nd with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m., Then the Mavericks travel to Winona State and take on the Warriors on Saturday December 4th with tip slated for 3:30 p.m.
