Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State University Maverick men's track and field program picked up its second dual win of the season in the Mark Schuck Dual by a score of 102-22 over the Winona State Warriors.
Carter Nesvold finished first in the 200m dash with a time of 22.37 and
Ben Schmied finished first in the 600m run with a time of 1:23.58.
In the 1-mile run,
Will Valentin finished first with a time of 4:29.97 and
Tanner Maier finished first in the 3000m run with a time of 8:57.48.
In the 55m hurdles,
Justus Adams finished first with a time of 7.80 and he also finished first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.39.
To wrap up the track events, the Mavericks 4x400m relay team finished first with a time of 3:31.41.
In the high jump,
Bryant Brown (2.08m (6'9.75")) and
Caleb Cowles (2.05m (6'8.75)) finished first and second in the high jump and both recorded provisional qualifying marks currently ranking fourth and ninth in the nation respectively.
Caleb Kath finished first in the long jump with a top leap of 7.08m (23'2.75") which currently ranks as the 14
th best jump in the nation. In the triple jump
Stephen Ayobamidele finished first with a top mark of 13.64m (44'9").
Bedale Naba finished first in the shot put with a top throw of 15.93m (52'3.25") and
Carter Aguilera finished first in the weight throw with a provisional qualifying throw of 19.00m (62'4") which currently ranks as the 13
th best in DII.
Carson Dittel and
Thomas Lindsey finished first and second in the pole vault with jumps of 4.75m (15'7") with
Dittel scoring fewer failed attempts. The jumps tie them both for the 18
th best mark in DII so far this season.
The Mavericks return to action next Saturday as they host the University of Northern Iowa in the Ted Nelson Dual. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in Myers Field House.
