MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State football team has been ranked No. 1 in the College Football America Yearbook Division II Preseason Top-30.

Last season, the Mavericks finished with a 14-1 record as they advanced to the NCAA Championship Game for the second time in team history. MSU set several single-season records in 2019 including points scored (712), rushing yards (4,246), rushing attempts (713), rushing touchdowns (59), total offense (7,766), all-purpose yards (9,063) and punt returns (44).

Minnesota State is one of three NSIC teams ranked in the top-30. Sioux Falls has been ranked 23rd, while Augustana was ranked 29th.

The Mavericks open their 2020 season on Saturday, Sept. 12, as they travel to Minnesota Duluth. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
