Seven Mavericks Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

MANKATO, Minn. --- A total of seven Minnesota State football players have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for their efforts on the field and in the classroom this past season.

Senior Grant Guyett, sophomore Mitchell Thompson, sophomore Cole Rogers, sophomore Cade Stingle, junior Zach Brady, junior Andrew Laplant and senior Jake Cicero were all named to the CSC Academic All-District Team. The CSC Academic All-American Teams will be announced on Jan. 27.

A wide receiver from Omaha, Neb., Grant Guyett played in all 14 games for the Mavericks as he caught 41 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns. Guyett owns a 3.50 GPA and is majoring in management information systems.

A quarterback from Kewaunee, Wis., Mitchell Thompson played in all 14 games for the Mavericks as he threw for 1,704 yards and 15 touchdowns, to go along with 704 rushing yards and 11 touchdown carries.. Thompson owns a 3.73 GPA and is majoring in finance.

A defensive back from Altoona, Iowa, Cole Rogers played in 13 games for the Mavericks as he tallied five tackles and broke up a pass. He is majoring in accounting and owns a 3.68 GPA.

A linebacker from Shioctan, Wis., Cade Stingle finished second on the team in tackles with 65. He also notched 4.0 tackles for a loss to go along with one interception and four passes broken up. He is majoring in finance and owns a 3.56 GPA.

An offensive lineman from Vermillion, S.D., Zach Brady played in all 14 games for the Mavericks this past season as he helped MSU rush for 2,908 yards and 38 touchdowns. He owns a 3.73 GPA and is majoring in finance.

A wide receiver from West Chicago, Ill., Andrew Laplant played in all 14 games for the Mavericks this past season. He owns a 3.60 GPA and is majoring in management.

A tight end from Hanover Park, Ill., Jake Cicero played in 14 games for the Mavericks. He caught eight passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. He owns a 3.54 GPA and is double majoring in applied leadership and health and physical education.

Minnesota State finished its season with a 10-4 record as it advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
