Mankato, Minn.  --- Minnesota State freshman Makayla Jackson was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Iowa Black and Gold Premier.

Jackson, a Milwaukee, Wis., native, placed second in the 60m with a time of 7.47 which is the best time in the NSIC so far this season.  The time also ranks third in the NCAA Div II. 
Next action for the Mavericks is the Ted Nelson Classic set for Feb. 8 in Myers Field House.
