Columbus, Ohio. --- The Minnesota State women's hockey team dropped a closely fought contest in game two of the WCHA Quarterfinals to the #5 Ohio State Buckeyes, 1-0 on Saturday at the OSU Ice Rink.
It was Ohio State that scored the first and only goal of the game in the first period and continued to hold that 1-0 lead through the final whistle. At the 5:44 mark, junior center

Calla Frank. The Mavericks outshot the Buckeyes 10-9 in the first frame.
The Mavericks killed off three power plays in the second period, including when the Buckeyes had a four-on-three advantage. Frank made half of her total saves in the period, amassing 16. The scoreless third period was hard fought by both teams, but Minnesota State was unable to find the back of the net before the final buzzer sounded.
Freshman
Calla Frank (6-8-3) made 32 saves and had a total of 68 in her first two postseason appearances.
The Mavericks were outshot by the Buckeyes by a 33-20 margin. Minnesota State went zero-for-two on the power play and also killed off all four penalties taken throughout the contest.
Minnesota State finished the 2019-20 season with an 11-20-6 record, accumulating the most wins since the 2013-14 season when the team finished with 13 wins.
