MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's basketball team will finish its regular season schedule this weekend at Taylor Center as it takes on the Upper Iowa Peacocks on Friday and the Winona State Warriors on Saturday. Tip-offs are set for 7:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., respectively.
Minnesota State History: The 2019-20 season marks the 98th campaign as a varsity sport for Minnesota State men's basketball. The Mavericks are 1,368-913 (.599) in 2,281 games since the program's inception in the 1920-21 season. MSU capped its 33rd and final season as a member of the NCC in 2008 and owned a 283-267 (.515) record in 550 league games played. In the NSIC, MSU owns a 181-77 (.701) record to go with four regular-season championships and two tournament championships.
The Mavericks made their 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament last season. MSU owns an 18-15 record (.545) in NCAA Tournament play, including a 91-62 loss to Northwest Missouri State in 2019.
Against the Peacocks: Friday's game between Minnesota State and Upper Iowa will be their 29th all-time meeting with MSU leading the series 22-6. Earlier this season, the Peacocks defeated the Mavericks 92-88 in overtime.

Cameron Kirksey notched a game-high 33 points, while freshman
Ryland Holt tallied a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Senior

Against the Warriors: Saturday's game between Minnesota State and Winona State marks their 139th all-time meeting, with MSU leading the series 88-50. WSU has won the last two meetings against the Mavericks, including a 78-62 win earlier this season.

Ryland Holt tallied 21 points and five rebounds, while senior
Cameron Kirksey posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Concerning the Mavericks: Minnesota State enters the weekend the owner of a 14-12 record, including a 12-8 NSIC record. Last weekend, the Mavericks fell to Augustana 73-66, before defeating Wayne State 72-70 in overtime on the road.

Concerning the Peacocks: Upper Iowa enters the weekend the owner of a 17-9 record, including a 14-6 NSIC record. The Peacocks have won their last three games, including a 63-55 win over Southwest Minnesota State and a 75-69 win over Sioux Falls at home last weekend.
As a team, UIU is averaging 81.0 points and 33.0 rebounds per game this season, while shooting 45.7% from the field, including a 37.7% showing from three point range. The Peacocks have passed out 361 assists and have tallied 197 steals.
Jareese Williams is averaging 14.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game this season and leads the Peacocks with 82 three pointers made. Joe Smoldt has tallied 12.4 points per game also, while Jake Hilmer has notched 12.2 points a game and has passed out a team-leading 121 assists.
Upper Iowa is coached by Brooks McKowen who is in his seventh season with UIU. He owns a 112-91 record with the Peacocks.
Concerning the Warriors: Winona State enters the weekend the owner of a 15-11 record, including a 12-8 NSIC record. Last weekend, the Warriors fell to Sioux Falls 51-49, before topping Southwest Minnesota State 68-56.
As a team, WSU is averaging 75.2 points and 32.6 rebounds per game this season, while shooting 43.7% from the field and 36.7% from three point range. The Warriors have also passed out 343 assists and have recorded 159 steals.
Caleb Wagner is averaging 20.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season, while Kevion Taylor has tallied 19.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, to go along with a team-leading 95 three pointers made. Andrea Lo Biondo has posted 8.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game also.
The Warriors are coached by Todd Eisner, who is in his fifth season as head coach. He owns a 75-67 record.
