Minnesota State took two games at Ferris State last weekend, downing the host Bulldogs by 5-0 and 5-1 margins. The Mavericks head into a WCHA road series at Bowling Green riding a five-game winning streak and owning an 20-3-1 overall record.
The Mavericks, who have won 15 of their last 17 games and are rated third is this week's USCHO poll, stand 12-10-3 in the all-time series vs. Bowling Green. Minnesota State heads into this weekend's series having gone 5-5-0 in the last ten games vs. the Falcons. The Mavericks are 4-5-3 in games played vs. BGSU in Bowling Green.

Sophomore
Dryden McKay, a five-time Western Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Week honoree this year, stands 19-2-1 with a .950 save percentage and 1.14 goals against average on the season. The Downers Grove, Ill., native leads the country in wins, goals against average, save percentage and shutouts (he has seven). McKay stands along atop the school single-season record for shutout with seven and his 11 career shutouts are tied for first all-time at Minnesota State (Cole Huggins (MSU 2013-17) also had 11).
On the Marc
Senior forward Marc Michaelis, who had four points on a pair of goals and two assists in the series at Ferris State last weekend, stands tied for third in the country in scoring with 15-15--30 in 24 games played for 2019-20. Michaelis tallied his third shorthanded goal of the season in the 5-0 win vs. Ferris State and the goal gives him a school-record ten shorthanded goals for his career. A three-time First Team All-WCHA selection and the 2019-20 WCHA Preseason Player of the Year, Michaelis is the NCAA's active career scoring leader with 148 points (66 Gs, 82 As) in 141 career games played. His 148 points ranks third on Minnesota State's career scoring list for the DI-era.

Parker Tuomie, who collected three assists in Minnesota State's 5-1 win at Ferris State, has 40-78--118 in 138 games for his four-year Minnesota State career. His 117 points is tenth on Minnesota State's career point-scoring list.

Reggie Lutz extended his career-high for goal when he scored his ninth goal of the season in last Friday's 5-1 win at Ferris State. Lutz 23-34--57 in 99 career games.

Edwin Hookenson registered two assists in last Friday's 5-0 win at Ferris State. Hookenson, who has 8-17--25 in 110 career games, is +32 and has 184 blocked shots in his four years with the Mavericks.

Jack McNeely had two points on a goal and an assist in last weekend's series at Ferris State and has totalled 2-5--7 in the last ten games. For the year the Lakeville, Minn., native has 2-7--9 and stands tied for the team lead with a +16 rating.

Ian Scheid, who hasn't missed a game in his four years with the Mavericks, has 0-12--12 in 24 games played in 2019-20. He has 22-65--87 in 145 career games and stands sixth on Minnesota State's defensemen career scoring list.

Junior center Jared Spooner, who tied his career-high for assists in a game when he had three helpers in last Friday's 5-0 win at Ferris State, has 6-9--15 in 23 games played this year. Spooner stands tied for the Minnesota State team lead with a +16 rating this year and the Bismarck, N.D., native has registered 17-44--61 in 104 career games.

Riese Zmolek, who has 1-4--5 in 23 games played this year, leads the Mavericks in blocked shots with 34.

Lucas Sowder, who had three points on a goal and two assists in last Saturday's 5-1 win at Ferris State, stands tied for second in the nation in freshman scoring with 19 points on four goals and 15 assists.

Connor Mackey is Minnesota State's top-scoring defenseman. Mackey, who ranks third on the team with a +14 rating, has 14-36--50 for his three-year college career and in 104 games with the Mavericks is +38 with 172 shots on goal and 83 blocked shots.

Charlie Gerard scored twice in Minnesota State's 5-1 win at Ferris State last Saturday, Gerard, who also had an assist in Friday's 5-0 win over the Bulldogs, has generated 9-8--17 this year and for his four-year college career, owns 26-31--57 in 107 career games.

Wyatt Aamodt scored his first goal of the season in last Friday's 5-0 win at Ferris State. Aamodt, who has 1-1--2 in nine games this year, has 2-5--7 in 45 career games with the Mavericks.
