MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's basketball team (2-1, 0-0 NSIC) will travel to Kenosha, Wis., to take on the UW-Parkside Rangers Saturday.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 p.m., and will bring an end to the Mavericks' non-conference schedule.
 
Mavericks at a Glance: Minnesota State (2-1, 0-0 NSIC), enters the week after picking up a 100-63 win over the Bethany Lutheran Vikings Monday night at Taylor Center.

Stat Pack: As a team, Minnesota State is averaging 86.0 points per game in comparison to its opponents' 66.7. Additionally, the Mavericks average 44.7 rebounds per game and dish out 17.0 assists per game while stealing the ball 15.3 times per game.

Impact Mavericks: Junior forward Tayla Stuttley is the leading scorer for the Mavericks, averaging 13.3 points per game as well as leading the team in assists with 4.3 per game.  Sophomore center Kristi Fett is the second leading scorer and rebounder for Minnesota State, averaging 11.0 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game.  Junior forward Rachel Shumski is the leading rebounder for the Mavericks, averaging 5.7 boards per game while adding 7.3 points per game.  Senior guard Kirstin Klitzke is also averaging 9.3 points per game to go along with 2.0 steals per contest.

Youth Movement: Several underclassmen are making an early impact for the Mavericks this season. Center Kristi Fett is averaging 11.0 points per game while also averaging 5.0 rebounds a game.  Freshman guard Shea Fuller is averaging 9.0 points per game this season while sophomore forward Mikayla Nachazel has averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

Bench Squad: The bench players for the Mavericks have outscored their opponents 142-46 to date this season.

Scouting UW-Parkside:  The University of Wisconsin Parkside is located in Kenosha, Wis., and is currently 2-4 (0-0 GLIAC) on the season. The Rangers are members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).  Parkside is led by head coach Jen Conely who is in her second season as the leader of the program.  

As a team this season, the Rangers net 71.7 points per game in comparison to their opponents' 78.8. Parkside also snatches 33.0 rebounds and dishes out 15.7 assists per contest. 

The Rangers are led by senior guard Taylor Stephen and sophomore guard Alyssa Nelson who average 13.0 and 11.7 points per game respectively.  Nelson also leads Parkside in rebounds with 6.2 per game.  

Saturday's  game will mark the sixth all-time meeting between these two programs, the most recent of which was an 66-64 win for the Mavericks during the 2001-02 season.   

Looking Ahead: Minnesota State will begin conference play with a pair of home games.  Friday, Dec. 6, the Mavericks will host Southwest Minnesota State with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.  Saturday, Minnesota State will host Sioux Falls with tip-off scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
