Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State Sophomore Katie Taylor has been named the NSIC Women's Indoor Field Athlete of The Week for the first time this season.

A native of Hayward, Wis., Taylor is already making her presence known as she has posted two NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the weight throw (17.95m- 58' 10.75") and shot put (13.71m- 44' 11.75") last weekend at the Chuck Peterson Open. The tosses rank 10th and 17th, respectively, in NCAA Division II. Taylor placed first in the weight throw and second in the shot put at the Chuck Peterson Open.

Up next, Minnesota State will host the Minnesota State Invitational on January 11 in Myers Field House.
