What's on Tap: No. 13 Minnesota State soccer wraps up the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season with two matches this week. Minnesota State plays at Upper Iowa on Friday at 2:00 p.m., in Fayette, Iowa before coming home to face Winona State at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday at The Pitch. Sunday is Senior Day for Minnesota State.
Looking Back at Last Week: Minnesota State (13-2-1, 11-1-1 NSIC) played to a 1-1-0 record in two NSIC road matches over the weekend. The Mavericks defeated University of Mary 5-2 on Saturday in Bismarck, N.D., before dropping their first NSIC match of the season to Minot State 2-1 in double overtime on Sunday in Minot, N.D. The Mavericks tied their season high for goals scored in a match with their five goals against U-Mary.
Remembering the Shutout Streak: Minnesota State's shutout streak ended at 11 matches when U-Mary became the first NSIC team to score against the Mavericks in 2017. Before surrendering goals to U-Mary on Saturday, the Maverick defense had not allowed a goal since a match at then-No. 14 ranked Grand Valley State on Sept. 10 — spanning 1,045:38 minutes of game time between goals allowed. The 11-match shutout streak is tied for the seventh longest in NCAA DII women's soccer history.
NCAA DII Rankings: Minnesota State ranks in the top 10 in three NCAA DII women's soccer statistical categories. They are: shutout percentage (2nd, .813), goals against average (4th, .365) and save percentage (T-6th, .897).

NSIC: Minnesota State is in second place in the NSIC with an 11-1-1 conference record and 34 points. The Mavericks are one point behind Bemidji State, which has 35 points. Minot State and Augustana are tied for third with 30 points each.
Scouting Upper Iowa: The Peacocks (4-10-1, 4-8-1 NSIC), who are 2-3-0 in their last five matches, won at MSU Moorhead 2-1 on Saturday and lost at Northern State 2-1 on Sunday.

Scouting Winona State: The Warriors (9-6-1, 8-4-1 NSIC) enter the week having won four of their last five matches, including 3-2 and 1-0 wins over Northern State and MSU Moorhead, respectively, over the weekend.
Abby Bohanski, who tallied one goal and one assist last weekend, leads the Warriors in goals (7), assists (6) and points (20).
