Minnesota State added a pair of goals in the final period to close out the scoring in the contest. Freshman defenseman
Connor Mackey got his first career marker at 8:05 and Suess scored the third power goal of the game for the Mavericks after jamming a rebound past Dop at 12:16 in making it a 4-1 game.
LaCouvee turned aside 16 shots in upping his record to 2-0-0 for the year.
The Mavericks, who are 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 WCHA, outshot their opponents for fourth straight game on the season, owning a 34-17 advantage over the Falcons tonight. Minnesota State converted on three of six power play chances and held BGSU scoreless in its six opportunities with the man advantage.
Minnesota State and Bowling Green complete the two-game league series Saturday with a 6:07 p.m. CST face-off scheduled.
