Mankato, Minn. --- With perfect weather, the Minnesota State women's track and field team hosted the MSU Twilight on Wednesday afternoon.
The Mavericks took home 12 first-places finishes today.
Winning the 100-meter hurdles was senior
Brooke Foreman in a career best time of 14.23.
Gabi Gaineswould win the 100-meter dash in 12.26. Senior
Mackenzie Bealswon the 200-meter dash in 24.61. She was followed by
Afure Adah in 24.71. The 400-meter dash saw the Mavericks finish 1-2 with
Altoniece Williamstaking first in a career best time of 57.11.
Kimmy Wreh had a time of 58.83. Taylor Glover placed second in the 400-meter hurdles in 64.93.
MSU took the top-three spots in the 800-meter run. Leading the way was
Haley Kruger in 2:15.55. She was followed by
Megan Allen (2:16.85), and
Jessica Boespflug (2:21.40). Senior Marina Paul won the 1500-meter run in a career best time of 4:55.47.
The field events had some great performances. Winning the high jump was
Khadiya Hollingsworthwith a height of 5'07.75''. The pole vault was won by senior
Faryn Wirkus with a vault of 12'03.50''.
Grady Keding placed second (11'09.75'').
Ariel Thomaswon the triple jump with a leap of 39'02.50''. This is the 28
th best triple jump in division II and qualifies her provisionally for nationals.
Senior
Morgan Stampleyset a career best in the hammer throw with a toss of 190'08'' and placed first. This is the seventh best hammer throw in division II. Sarah Knutson placed second with a mark of 166'02'', which is also a career best.
Lexi Platz won the javelin throw with a mark of 110'05''.
