Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team returned to action this afternoon as they hosted the MSU Twilight.
The Mavericks finished with six first-place finishes. Junior
Myles Hunter started the day off strong with a first place finish in the 110-meter hurdles in 13.79. The 100-meter dash saw three Mavericks in the top-four. Leading the way was
Reid Diamondin second (10.90). He was followed by
Paul Selman in third (10.92) and
Geno Bullardin fourth (10.98). The two athletes competing in the 200-Meters for MSU both set career bests.
Ryan Immeker placed third in a time of 21.89 and
Emmanuel Dixonwas right behind in fourth in 21.95.
The lone Mavericks competing in the 400-meter dash was Jovontee Brice finishing third in 49.48. The 800-meter run was won by
Alexander Schonebergerin 1:56.94, which is a season best time. He was followed by
John Schuster in second (2:00.32). Four Mavericks placed in the top-five in the 1500-meter run with
Brendan Gessner placing second in 4:04.01.
The 4x100-meter relay of
Bullard,
Richard Wilhite, Jr.,
Diamond, and
Selman took home first place in 41.35.
The field events saw similar success with
Frank Veldman winning the high jump in 6'08.25''.
Jeff DeCock would place second with a height of 6'07''. In the long jump Bullard would place third with a mark of 22'03.75''.
Alex Campbellwould take home the triple jump crown with a leap of 47'10.50''.
Sam Udermannplaced second in the hammer throw with a career best toss of 173'01''. Placing right behind him in second was
Bryan Caffin also with a personal best of 172'04''. Caffin would also set a career best in the shot put with a mark of 51'05.50'' and placed first. Placing third was
Dustin Gillwith a toss of 46'10''.
