Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State women's track and field team received several strong performances in the first day of the 2016 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships in Sioux Falls Friday.
Freshman
Khadiya Hollingsworth (Brookfield, Wis.) led the way when she took home top honors in the high jump where she cleared 5-7.75. Senior
Kayla Lindell and junior Brianna Ziolkowski tied for fourth (5-2).
Senior
Faryn Wirkus (Edgar, Wis.) placed third in the pole vault where she cleared 13-00.75.
Junior
Grady Keding (Mosinee, Wis.) was eighth with an effort of 10-7.
Senior
Morgan Stampley placed third in the hammer throw with a toss of 186-04. Sophomore
Sarah Knutson finished eighth in the event with a throw of 157-03.
Senior
Marina Paul (Cedar Grove, Wis.) earned a seventh-place finish in the 10000-meters with a time of 38:26.92.
The Mavericks currently sit in third place after six events with 32.3 total points.

The NSIC Championships will wrap up tomorrow afternoon in Sioux Falls with the first field events set to begin at 11 a.m.
