Sioux Falls, S.D --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team turned in a strong performance at the Vance Butler Invitational held in Sioux Falls, S.D., Sunday.
Freshman
John Schuster claimed top honors in the 400m with a clocking of :49.55 and a pair of Mavericks in sophomores
London Thurman (14.12m) and
Alex Campbell (14:07m) went first and second in the triple jump.
Senior
Richard Wilhite, Jr. turned in a pair of second-place finishes in the 100m (10.36) and 200m (20.94), respectively. His time in the 100m bettered his NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 10.61, which he ran last weekend in Pittsburg, Kan.
Sophomore
Sam Udermann (170-07) and junior
Bryan Caffin (167-09) finished second and third, respectively in the hammer throw and sophomore
Michael Hoff (10:02.35) was second in the 3000m steeplechase.
Junior
Frank Veldman placed third in the high jump with a leap of 6'6.75''. Minnesota State's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Javontee Brice, Reid Diamond, John Schuster and Paul Selman, placed second with it's time of 3:21.02
