SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- The Minnesota State women's team fell to Upper Iowa on the road in Sioux Falls, S.D., Saturday afternoon by the score of 7-2.
With the loss, MSU falls 3-3 on the season, including a 2-2 NSIC record. With the win, Upper Iowa improves to 4-1, including a 3-0 conference record.
MSU's lone win in the doubles matches came courtesy of junior
Melissa Mashburn and freshman
Erin Streeter who defeated Isabella Sella and Jemina Linn Sorman 8-6 in the No. 2 doubles match.
In singles competition, sophomore
Killian Doran won the lone singles match for the Mavericks as she defeated Sorman 0-6, 6-1, 10-8 in the No. 3 singles match. Senior
Sarah McCann fell to Kelly Jachymowski 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 in the fourth singles match.
The Mavericks continue play in Sioux Falls on Sunday as they take on the Winona State Warriors at 1:00 p.m.
