Hancock Leads Through Day One of NSIC Multi Championships

Aberdeen, S.D. --- With the semester beginning to wrap up, the Minnesota State men's track and field team switches gears towards the conference championships.

Senior Nathan Hancock (Independence, Mo.) is the lone Maverick in action at the NSIC Multi Championships and currently sits in first half way through the events.

To begin the afternoon, Hancock set a new personal-best in the 100-meter dash with his final time of 10.84. He followed that up with a leap of 21'11.5" in the long jump. In the shot put, he recorded a toss of 38'4". For the high jump, he marked in at 6'3.5". Rounding out day one was a time of 49.76 in the 400-meters.

Hancock posted the best scores in the 100-meter dash, high jump and 400-meter events. He currently sits with 3,782 points with Derek Lahm of Wayne State in second with 3,622.

The Independence, Mo. native will complete his final conference decathlon competition tomorrow afternoon in Aberdeen.
