California Trip Wraps Up at Beach Invitational

Norwalk, Calif. --- Following some impressive showings this past week, the Minnesota State women's track and field team polished off their California trip at the Beach Invitational, hosted by Cerritos College.

Senior Sid'Reshia Floyd (New Hope, Minn.) got things started in the 100-meter dash with her time of 12.30. She would also run in the 200-meters finishing with a time of 25.56. Brieanna Puckett (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Karlona Gregory (Minneapolis, Minn.) also ran in the event finishing with times of 25.65 and 25.66, respectively. Gregory, Floyd and Puckett, along with junior Mackenzie Beals (Marshalltown, Iowa) finish the 4x100 relay in sixth with a time of 47.51.

Beals also posted a time of 59.41 in the 400-meter event. Brooke Foreman (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) ran in a pair of events finishing 27th in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.80 and posting a time of 1:09.22 in the 400-meter hurdles. Maddi Sjelin (St. Michael, Minn.) ran the 800-meters in a time of 2:16.21.

The pole vault event was once again a very strong effort for the Mavericks. Bryanna Sudman (Eden Prairie, Minn) finished 19th with a vault of 12'0.5". Nicole Larson (Milwaukee, Wis.) reached the same height finishing in 28th and debuting on the national qualifying list with this provisional standard.

Puckett rounded out her trip in the long jump finishing with a lunge of 17'3.5". Finishing up the trip was Anna Veroeven (North Mankato, Minn.) in the triple jump with her 19th-place posting at 38'3.25".

The Mavericks will take to the national stage once again next week as they travel to Iowa to compete in the annual Drake relays, scheduled to kick off on April 23rd.
