MANKATO, Minn. --- Fifth-rated Minnesota State won a pair of 7-4 games over Upper Iowa on Wednesday at the MSU Baseball Complex push its winning streak to eight games.

Upper Iowa tallied the next four runs in the game after rallying for three runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth to take a 4-2 lead heading into the final inning of play. Waldek hit a two-run home run to tie up the game in the seventh. Then after senior

Connor McCallum hit a walk-off three-run home run to push the Mavericks to a 7-4 win.

Joey Reed pitched four innings and allowed three earned runs and seven hits while striking out four batters. Sophomore
Mitchell Bauer picked up his first win of the year after pitching the final three innings and allowing one earned run and just four hits.
The Peacocks came out in game two and jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first half inning of play. MSU responded and cut the lead in half after an RBI double by senior

Max Waletich later scored another run on a wild pitch.
In the second inning the Mavericks tied up the score with a RBI singles by McCallum and Waletich. Then in the fifth inning, Kramer singled to left field to score redshirt freshman
Josh Wenzel.
Waletich hit his eighth home run of the year in the sixth inning and a sacrifice fly by Peterson gave the Mavericks a 7-4 win.

Nick Veale came in to relieve starting pitcher redshirt freshman
Aaron Rozek in the first inning and pitched 5.1 innings of scoreless baseball to push his record to 3-0 on the year. Junior

Dakota Belter pitched a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his fifth save of the year.
The Mavericks, who now stand 25-4 overall and 15-3 in the NSIC, will continue action this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders against Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday and Sunday. First pitch for Saturday's twinbill is scheduled for 1:30 while Sunday's doubleheader will begin at noon.
