Mavericks Snag Six First-Place Titles at Lee Krough Invite

St. Peter, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men's track and field team returned to action as they travelled north on Highway 169 to the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College.

Emmanuel Dixon (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) got things rolling with his third-place finish in the 100-meter dash at 11.04. He continued his day in the 200-meters finishing second at 22.26. Matthew Stocker (Salon, Iowa) followed up with another second-place finish in the 400-meters at 51.72.

Austin Pasch (Tomah, Wis) gained the first Maverick victory in the 800-meters with a final time of 1:56.20. Michael Hoff (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) grabbed third in the 1500-meters with a time of 4:12.41. In the 110-meter hurdles, Zechariah Copeland (Brookfield, Wis) finished third with a final time of 15.20. Justin McMurtry (Fairmont, Minn.) took home first in the 400-meter hurdles at 56.54. Kevin Martinson (Spirit Lake, Iowa) followed in second at 57.03.

Senior David Pearcill (Eagan, Minn.) started the field event off with a win in the triple jump with a lunge of 47'4.5". Alex Campbell (Ellsworth, Wis.) and Khalil Jor'dan (Eagan, Minn.) followed in second and third, respectively.

In the shot put, Bryan Caffin (Hudson, Wis.) took home the win with a toss of 47'11.75". Sam Udermann (Foley, Minn.) followed in third with a throw of 45'3". Udermann took first in the discus at 150'. Adam Schultz (Le Sueur, Minn.) grabbed third with a throw of 148'4". Schultz also finished second in the hammer throw at 162'4". Wrapping up the field events was Samuel McKay (Rhinelander, Wis.) in the Javelin finishing first with a throw of 188'4".

The Mavericks will return to action next week as they will send some student-athletes to the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. and the rest to the Manitou Classic held in Northfield, Minn.
