MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's track and field team took to the road this weekend as they traveled to Minneapolis to take part in the annual Jack Johnson Classic.
The leaders of the group came from the impressive showing of the 4x400-meter relay team. Comprised of Jenni Vanttinen (Helsinki, Finland), Taylor Glover (Spencer, Iowa), Taylor Naatz (Watertown, Wis.) and Brieanna Puckett (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) finished the meet in sixth place with a time of 3:50.10. This marks as a provisional qualifying standard and also currently ranks 11th best across Division II.
Puckett would also take part in the 200-meters running to a time of 25.92. Marina Paul (Cedar Grove, Wis.) andErin Baker (Grand Rapids, Minn.)had successful days in the 3000-meters crossing with times of 10:29.01 and 10:29.36, respectively.
The field events also saw some success with senior Anna Veroeven (North Mankato, Minn.) leading the way. She brought home fifth-place in the triple jump with a lunge of 37'4.5". Nicole Larson (Milwaukee, Wis.) also had a great showing in the pole vault by going 12'2". This effort was a season best and ranks her tied for eighth-place across Division II.

The Mavericks return to Myers Field House next Saturday as they are slated to host the Ted Nelson Classic in Mankato, Minn.
