What's On Tap: After defeating Winona State in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday, No. 1 Minnesota State will travel to Somers, Wis., to take on No. 10 Central Missouri in the NCAA Central Region Championship match.
The Mavericks have made it to the Sweet Sixteen twice in program history and in 2012 defeated UCM to advance to the Elite Eight. MSU owns a 6-7-3 record in NCAA playoff matches.
Looking Back at Last Week: Minnesota State received the No. 1 seed and first round bye in the 2014 NCAA Central Region Championship. MSU awaited the winner of Friday's match between Winona State and Southwest Baptist University which the Warriors won in penalty kicks.

Sydney Temple's goal in the 59th minute that MSU took a 1-0 lead. Junior
Jessica Bowe solidified the win for the Mavericks when she scored off a centering pass from sophomore
Kiana Nickel in the 82nd minute to push MSU past WSU 2-0. Senior goalkeeper
Molly McGough earned her 20th victory of the season and produced her 13th shutout in the win. As a team the Mavericks have produced 17 shutouts and have not given up more than one goal in a match.
Assist Machine: Senior
Emily Moris tallied her 14th assist of the season against Winona State on Sunday. Moris took a corner kick from the left side of the goal and found senior
Sydney Temple streaking up from midfield. With that assist she has now produced the most assists in a single season in program history. She sits in third place in career assists with 28 and is just five shy of breaking that record.
Scouting the Jennies: The University of Central Missouri received the No. 2 ranking in the NCAA Central Region Championship and owns a record of 20-0-2 in 2014. The Jennies won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Association regular season and tournament championships this season. Most recently they defeated the University of Central Oklahoma 2-0 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
Head coach Lewis Theobald is in his eighth year at the helm of the Jennies program and owns an overall record of 129-22-17. UCM has three players with 20 points or more led by Julie Ireland (F, Lake St. Louis, Mo.) who has scored 12 goals and six assists for 30 points. Sophomore Hannah Pyle (F, Lenexa, Kan.) has 25 points with nine goals and seven assists while freshman Alex Yockey (M, Olathe, Kan.) has also scored nine goals with two assists for 20 points. Freshman Ana Dilkes (GK, Wichita, Kan.) has started every match in goal for the Jennies owning a goals against average of .49 and a .880 save percentage. She has also produced 13 shutouts.
As a team the Jennies are outshooting their opponents 302-197. They are averaging 2.68 goals per game while allowing only .50 goals per game.
Inside the MSU vs. UCM Series: The Mavericks and the Jennies have met 10 times before with the series deadlocked at 4-4-2. Last season the Mavericks defeated the Jennies 3-0 in Mankato at The Pitch.
The Road Ahead: The winner of Friday's match will play the winner of the match between the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Grand Valley State University on Sunday afternoon in Somers, Wis.
Program History: The 2014 season marks the 20th year of women's soccer as a varsity sport at Minnesota State. MSU claimed its third-straight NSIC regular-season championship this season after capturing NCC regular-season crowns in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2007. The Mavericks currently hold a 262-109-27 (.692) all-time record and 79-11-7 (.851) all-time mark in seven seasons in the NSIC. MSU has posted 17 consecutive winning seasons dating back to 1998.
