Box Score ST. CLOUD, Minn. --- After losing to St. Cloud State last night 5-1, the Mavericks and Huskies played to a 1-1 tie in St. Cloud on Saturday night. SCSU gained an extra point in the shootout, outlasting the Mavericks 1-0.
With the tie the Mavericks push their record to 0-3-1 overall and in WCHA play while the Huskies move to 2-3-1 and 1-0-1 in league play.
In the first period neither team was able to find the back of the net as junior goaltender 
Erin Krichiver made eight saves compared to SCSU netminder Katie Fitzgerald's ten saves.
The Mavericks struck late in the second period while the Huskies were on the power-play. Senior 
Natalie Stoltz was able to produce her first goal of the season with 1:18 left in the stanza. Assisting on the scoring play were sophomore 
Anna Fiegert and freshman 
Hannah Davidson, both their first points of the 2014 campaign.
In the final period the Huskies added a shorthanded goal of their own with 10:59 left in regulation. Neither team was able to push another goal across in the final minutes of the third period and overtime as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Huskies were the only team to score in the shootout as Lauren Hespenheide scored to give SCSU the extra point in the standings.
Krichiver tallied 29 saves on the evening and now owns a record of 0-1-1.
MSU was outshot but the Huskies 30-27 and both teams went 0-3 on the power-play.
The Mavericks will return to action next weekend as they travel to Merchyhurst for a couple of games against the Lakers on Friday and Saturday night.
