Faryn Wirkus was the lone member of the women's track and field team to compete at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championships inside CrossPlex Complex in Birmingham, Ala.
Wirkus was able to put up a career-best mark of 3.85 meters in the pole vault placing her in seventh-place. With her performance she earns her first All-American honors and is the fifth different female athlete to do so in the pole vault. MSU has a rich tradition in the pole vault and now have had an All-American named ten out of the past eleven years.
