Box Score Auburndale, Fla. --- #16 Minnesota State scored three runs in the first two innings and used a five-run eighth inning in cruising to an 8-2 victory over #8 Seton Hill Tuesday in Florida.
Sophomore catcher Nolan Johnson raised his batting average to .667 on the year with four hits in five trips to the plate in today's win. Senior first baseman Jeremy Sudbeck had two hits in three at bats and senior outfielder Ben Kincaid's two-run double was the key hit MSU's eighth-inning outburst.
Sophomore Tyler Ockuly, who did not allow a run in six innings of work while allowing two hits and striking our seven batters, is now 1-1 on the season. Senior Nick Sutherland pitched the final three innings to earn his second save.
Now 8-2 on the year and winners of their last three games, Minnesota State plays another nine-inning nonconference game tomorrow in Auburndale, Fla., with a 11:00 a.m. start time scheduled with #5 Grand Valley State.
