Box Score 2 Vadnais Heights, Minn.— Minnesota State (20-5) swept Concordia University on Wednesday inside the Vadnais Sports Dome, winning 10-5 and 2-0 as it finished its nonconference schedule.
The first three runs of the opening game were long balls as MSU sophomore
Lindsay Erickson hit two home runs and Concordia’s Tessa Ewert also hit a home run, giving the Mavericks a 2-1 score after three innings.
In the top of the fourth the Mavericks marked a five-run inning using three hits and a Golden Bear error. MSU sophomore

Chelsea Erickson’s ripped a two-out single to score Sonner and Wood giving the Mavericks a 7-1 cushion.
Minnesota State’s Upchurch scored in the sixth inning after she walked, stole second and crossed the dish whed she tagged on a deep fly ball and an error. Concordia used a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning to shrink the MSU lead to 8-5.
Chelsea Erickson and Wood each marked a run in the seventh when Sonner hit a two-run single as the Mavericks were able to hold on to earn the 10-5 win.

Kendra Huettl went five and two-third innings en route to her tenth win of the season. Huettl gave up four hits and three runs in that span. MSU sophomore pitcher

In game two, Minnesota State’s Robinson went deep to left-center field for her fourth home run of the season, which ties the team-lead.

Thirteenth-ranked Minnesota State (20-5) opens its NSIC action on Saturday as it heads north to Duluth, Minn., to face Minnesota Duluth for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
