	Mavericks Begin Roadtrip with 86-56 Win Over Southwest Minnesota State
	Minnesota State improves to 7-0 on the season behind a 22 point effort by Karlee Gengenbacher
	Marshall, Minn. – The Minnesota State University women’s basketball defeated Southwest Minnesota State University, 86-56, in its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference road game of the season to improve to 7-0 overall with a mark of 4-0 in the circuit.
	The Mavericks were led by junior guard Karlee Gengenbacher ,who finished the contest with 22 points and four rebounds.  In all, five Mavericks scored double-digits as sophomore Aubrey Davis tallied 14 points, senior Jamelia Hudnell recorded 13 points, sophomore Ashley Olson contributed 12 points and junior Ali Wilkinson scored 10 points.
	The Mustangs struck first as they held a 4-0 advantage, 1:30 into the game before the Mavericks went on an 8-0 run, holding an 8-4 lead with 16:00 remaining in the first half. MSU would lead by as many as 14 points before SMSU went on a 9-2 run to end the half, giving the Mavericks a 36-29 lead going into intermission.
	MSU converted on 13-33 (39%) of its shot from the floor in the first half and went 4-11 (36%) from behind the arc in the first and was led in the half by Gengenbacher who recorded 10 points and three rebounds in the opening frame.
	It took over four minutes for the Mavericks to convert on a field-goal in the second half, but once they did they quickly opened up a 10 point lead with 15:30 remaining in regulation and would not look back.
	The Mavericks converted on 31-65 (48%) of their shots from the field, 11-24 (46%) of their shots from the field and converted on 13-20 (65%) from the charity stripe as they defeated the Mustangs 86-56.
	The Mavericks will return to action Saturday, as they travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to do battle with the University of Sioux Falls, tip-off is slated for 4 p.m.
